Making jams and jellies at home is one thing…but finding ways to use the bounty of mason jars that quickly stock up is another topic all together. Here is an easy way to use hot pepper jelly. Now do not worry if your hot pepper jelly came from the aisle of the grocery store and not your own pantry. Guess what? No one will mind in the least. Having a quick appetizer or afternoon snack on hand to share with friends is more important than making sure your jelly is homemade.
I started with this pretty jar of homemade hot pepper jelly and in no time made a simple dip using cream cheese. This is straight forward and basic but the result is a spicy one you’ll turn to again and again.
Ingredients:
4 ounces of cream cheese
2 ounces of hot pepper jelly
Make as much or as little as you need but keep the ratio about the same—twice as much cream cheese as jelly. Mix together in a mini food processor or stir together in a bowl. Serve with crackers.
One more option that is even easier: serve the hot pepper jelly over top of some cheese. Cream cheese works well again or try goat cheese or a wheel of brie.

There is no combination like cream cheese and jalapeno jelly. Well, tart cherry serrano jelly and brie comes pretty close. Love the photo Holly, very pretty.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Karen. This might become my go-to , quick appetizer for casual get togethers. It has been a hit so far!
DeleteMy favorite for sure...I'll be making some wine jellies and this is exactly how I imagine them being served. Your last photo is perfect; makes me want to reach out and take a bite!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried wine jellies yet and look forward to following your lead in that area. Sounds delicious!
DeleteI've never mixed it up -- always poured it over -- your way sounds MUCH better!
