It’s not all baking all of the time here at A Baker’s House. My waistline couldn’t handle all the calories! Today I am jumping into the washi tape craze. I bought this tape at Target just yesterday and am sure you’ll see it popping up in other projects around here. Next week I’d like to feature some teacher appreciation ideas and I am guessing this cheerful and easy-to-use washi tape will come into play.
Today’s quick project is a simple photo mat. I had a 4 x 6 photo that needed to fit into a colorful orange 5 x 7 frame. The washi tape was easy to use and made a bright matting in no time at all. My biggest obstacle was choosing which flower photo to frame, they were all screaming “springtime!” to me and brought back happy memories of the day I went to Longwood Gardens (in Pennsylvania) with my grandmother.
| 1. pick a photo, any photo |
| 2. Cut a piece of paper to 5 x 7 (or whatever size you need) |
| 3. Choose your washi tape-- so bright and cheerful! |
| 4. Cut your tape to the lengths of your matting. Cut the ends at angle so they match up with the adjoining sides. |
| 5. Position the washi tape and your matting is complete. This tape is not too sticky-- it's easy to re-position if needed. |
Enjoy your beautifully matted and framed photo!
